We often hear about patients who dread visiting our office. Don’t worry! We don’t take it personally. We understand that patients avoid the dentist and or even fear the dentist for many reasons. Sometimes you may have had a negative experience in the past or maybe you don’t even know why you start to feel anxious. It’s ok; you are not alone. Millions of Americans feel exactly the same way you do. That is why we decided to offer sedation dentistry in our Lafayette, LA dental office.

Sedation Dentistry Options

sedation dentistry LafayetteDo you want to forget all about your appointment? We offer a wide variety of sedation options from a very mild sedative called nitrous oxide that we administer through a mask to oral conscious sedation that utilizes prescription medication to take the edge off your anxiety. Many patients are fine with one of these two options, especially for routine appointments like cleanings and exams. Some people, however, need a little more in order to relax.

For those patients, we offer IV sedation dentistry. With IV sedation, we administer and control the sedative medication intravenously. This gives us total control over the medication and allows us to make adjustments as necessary. We will monitor your vitals and keep you comfortable during your procedure.

What to Expect from Sedation Dentistry

Many of our patients fall asleep and report having only vague memories of their appointments. When you relax, we can work more efficiently and accomplish more in one appointment so you treatment goes quickly and smoothly. All of our patients with anxiety appreciate the options we offer and come to us because they know we can help them have the treatment they need and help keep them comfortable.
