Are you struggling to manage life with a missing tooth?

When you can't properly chew your food, eating becomes challenging. When you feel embarrassed about the appearance of your smile, it affects your confidence.

Perhaps you've considered dental implants to restore your smile, but you've been told you're not a good candidate for them. Bone grafting might be the solution you need, and Drs. Smith and Domingue can help you.

Bone Grafting 101

Dental implants require that the patient has enough healthy bone structure for proper support. Many dentists will tell you that dental implants aren't right for you if you don't have enough bone support. At our practice, our dentists have extensive experience and advanced training in implant dentistry, and they will recommend a bone grafting procedure to rebuild your bone so it can support one or more dental implants.

Bone grafting in Lafayette, LA uses donor bone tissue or bone from your own body to help rebuild and regenerate your jawbone. Your donor bone is placed during a simple surgical procedure, and then your jawbone is given time to heal so the new tissue integrates. After the appropriate healing time has passed, our doctors will place your dental implants into your bone and allow them to heal and integrate as well. This will create the foundation for your new tooth.

While this process does take a number of months to complete, it gives patients who weren't previously candidates access to the benefits that dental implants offer.
